MRI Scan Center & Ultrasound Test

Modern medical practice is heavily dependent upon the science of imaging. Ayushman hospital and health services boasts of a fully complement of imaging services to help and assist the doctors in diagnosis treatment and follow-up of various medical and surgical problems.

State of the art CT, MRI, X-ray and ultrasonography are the backbone of our imaging services which are available around the clock additional facilities like dexa bone scan, mammography, echocardiography, color Doppler studies and various radiologically dependent procedures are being done routinely.

Many complex surgeries and most orthopedic surgeries using implants and prosthetics are done under the imaging and visualization of c arms and fluoroscopy.

Located on the same floor, the imaging services are easily accessible. The imaging services not only provide important diagnostic tools but also lend invaluable contribution in the screening and invention of conditions like cancers of various types. Example: Breast MRI, prostate imaging, and liver ultrasound.

When it comes to medical diagnostic tests, there are several types of lab tests which are done for various purposes. Some of these which are done at our MRI scan centre in Dwarka are briefly described below.

MRI Scan:

  • Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI in short, is a type of scan that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body.

  • An MRI scanner generally looks like a large tube containing powerful magnets.  The patient is required to lie inside the tube during the scan. Depending on the part of the body which is to be scanned, the patient is moved into the scanner either head first or feet first.

  • At our MRI scan centre in Dwarka, the radiographer operating the scanner is always a trained professional and the patient can talk to the professional anytime during the scan via the intercom.

  • It is a painless and completely safe procedure though claustrophobic people may find it a little uncomfortable.

  • An MRI scan at our MRI scan centre in Dwarka is used to check almost any part of the body including the brain, spinal cord, bones and joints, breasts, heart and blood vessels, and internal organs like the liver, womb or other glands.

  • But MRI scans in Dwarka are not recommended to patients in certain situations like a patient having a pacemaker or an artificial joint. MRI scans in Dwarka are also not recommended for pregnant women.

  • The MRI scan procedure is about 15 to 90 minutes long during which the patient is required to stay as still as possible.

  • We, at our MRI scan centre in Dwarka use the results from these scans to help diagnose conditions, plan for future treatments and assess the current or previous treatments.

  • Ultrasound is a type of imaging test which uses high-frequency sound waves to look at organs and structures inside the body.

  • Ultrasound test in Dwarka is used by healthcare providers to view the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, liver, and other organs.

  • Doctors use it to view the fetus in cases of pregnancy.

  • Unlike X-rays, ultrasound test in Dwarka is radiation safe and does not expose the patient to radiation.

  • During an ultrasound test, the patient is required to lie on a table while a special technician moves a device called a transducer over the part of the body which is to be viewed.

  • The transducer emits sound waves, which bounce off the tissues inside the patient’s body and then these reflected waves are captured by the transducer using which the ultrasound machine creates images.

EEG Test :

  • An electroencephalogram or EEG is a test which is used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain.

  • Basically, an EEG tracks and records brain wave patterns. Brain cells communicate among themselves via electrical impulses which can be detected in EEG to be used to help detect potential problems associated with this communication.

  • An EEG machine has small flat metal discs or electrodes which are attached to the patient’s scalp with wires. These electrodes analyze the brain impulses and send signals to a computer that records the results.

  • The EEG recording looks like wavy lines with peaks and valleys and allow the doctors to quickly assess whether there are abnormal patterns or any irregularities which may indicate seizures or other brain disorders.

  • EEG test in Dwarka is done to detect problems in the electrical activity of the brain that may be associated with certain brain disorders including epilepsy, head injury, encephalitis, brain tumor, memory problems, encephalopathy, sleep disorders, stroke and dementia.

  • For a patient who is in a coma, an EEG test in Dwarka is performed to determine the level of brain activity. It is also done to monitor activity during brain surgery.

  • Although it may seem scary but EEG is absolutely painless and safe. There are no risks associated with EEG whatsoever.

DEXA scan:

  • A DEXA scan is a special type of X-ray that is used to measure bone mineral density or BMD in short.

  • DEXA stands for “dual energy X-ray absorptiometry”.

  • It may also be called a DXA scan, a bone density scan, or a bone densitometry scan.

  • DEXA scans in Dwarka are often prescribed in cases where diagnosis or assessment of someone’s risk of osteoporosis is required.

  • DEXA scan in Dwarka is absolutely painless as it is quick.

  • Moreover, DEXA scan in Dwarka is considered more effective than normal X-rays for identifying low bone mineral density.
